Velma Arleen  Little

Velma A. Little, 86, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, October 7, 2017.  Born in Cape Tormentine, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bessie (Allen) Garland. 

Velma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and true friend to all that knew her. She enjoyed bowling, painting, reading, doing cross word puzzles, playing a good game of cards (Bridge) and spending time with her family.

Velma will be sadly missed by her children, Gary Jay (Betty), Kevin Jay (Darlene), Harley Jay, Heather Jay and Linda Bostwick (Don); cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Stephanie, Colleen, Heather, Rob, Amy, Nadine, Jackie, Karen, Candice, Laura, Matthew and Brandon; 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  In addition to her parents, Velma was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Jay and second husband, Ralph Little; sons, Stuart and Harold Jay; grandson, Michael Jay; sister, Evelyn Bulman and brother, Jack Garland.

Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  A service to celebrate and honour Velma’s life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00 am.  Reception to be held following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre.  Interment to be held in Elmwood Cemetery.
