Robert "Bob" O. Boucher
Robert "Bob" O. Boucher, 85, of Mapleton Road, Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Born in Humphreys, he was the son of the late Napoleon "Nap" and Mary (Myshrall) Boucher.
Bob was a former employee of DeWare’s Garage with 18 years’ service and retired Custodian at the Moncton Community College with 15 years’ service. He was a member of the former St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and currently attended St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church.
Bob built many homes with his father and, in later years, with his three sons. For many years, Bob and his wife, Mary, were active volunteers for the Moncton Hawks Booster Club, as well as for several other Moncton hockey teams in the American Hockey League.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary (Greening) Boucher of 61 years; sons, Robert (Guylaine) of Moncton, William "Bill" (Sue) of Saint John and Brad (Denise) of St. Philippe; grandchildren, Selena (Daniella), Donovan (Jennifer), Marc (Melanie), Melissa (Steve), Gabriella, Alisha, Melissa, Lily, Kierra and Kiosha; five great grandchildren; special cousins, Doris Bourque of Moncton and Laurie "Mascot" (Rachel) Melanson of Florida, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Bob was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Rita, Theresa and Alice; brothers, Raymond, Arthur, Leonard and twin brother, Paul.
A Service to celebrate and honour Bob’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jean-Bernard Mallais presiding. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will be in Steeves Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
