Susan Elsabeth Boosamra
Susan Elsabeth Boosamra, 64, of Gatineau, QC and formerly of Riverview, NB. passed away peacefully after her courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Martis and Edna (Crawford) Howard. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Frank Boosamra. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her children Toria Marie Amanda Crossman (Melanie) of Miramichi, NB, Michael Crossman (Fabelle) of Gatineau, QC, Glori Boosamra of Alberta, Simon Teed (Stephanie) of Alberta, and grandchildren Cailin, Connor, Quinn, Peter and Nathaniel. She is also survived by one sister, Cynthia Kinnear (Earl) of Moncton, NB and several nephews, cousins and their families.
Susan graduated from St. Vincent's in Rothesay, NB in 1973. She was retired from the Royal Bank of Canada. Susan had a zest for life and adventure. She was a fabulous cook and loved to host gatherings for family and friends. She was very talented at crocheting, often sharing these gifts with family and friends and donating her work to hospitals and charities. Susan was a goal-setter, working throughout her life to fearlessly accomplish what she set her mind to. She was very active at the gym, and took part in walkathons, even walking across the Confederation Bridge. Susan also loved to travel. Whether the destination be near or far, she was always planning the next adventure.
Susan was very outgoing, with a great personality and made friends easily. She had the ability to accept you for who you were, make you feel special and help others with her wisdom and advice. Susan lived her life to the fullest and had a lifetime of adventure and love. Her children and grandchildren were a great source of happiness and support to her during her life and throughout her illness.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Ottawa Civic Hospital for the support and excellent care they provided to Susan during her stay. A special thanks to Cathy Ashe, one of Susan's dearest friends, for her love and care and for remaining by Susan's side to the very end.
A celebration of Susan's life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, October 19, 2019 between the hours of 4 PM and 8 PM.
