Jean Bertha M. Vautour
Jean Bertha M. Vautour, 96, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, December 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late George and Alfretta (Mitton) Vautour. She grew up in Hillsborough where she raised her children, and later resided in Moncton.
Jean was a dedicated worker at the Moncton Post Office retiring at 65 with over 35 years of service. She loved dancing, travelling, knitting, shopping and playing the piano. She enjoyed the beach and was an avid competitor in speed skating in which she earned many medals. Jean loved family get-togethers; any time with her family was important to her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend cherishing every moment she spent with each of them.
Jean will be sadly missed by her daughters, Patricia "Pat" Collins (late Donald) of Riverview and Judy Dinsmore (Douglas) of Ottawa, ON; son, James "Jim" (Wendy) Vautour of London, ON: grandchildren, Susan Bennett (Vernon), Patricia Leaman (Marty), David Lamon (Kristine), Carol Jean Vautour (Sean Harris), Andrea Brito (Edward), Chad Vautour (Melissa) and Julia Reid (Ben); great grandchildren, Richard, Savannah (late Frank), Mark, Douglas, Brooklyn, Brynleigh, Bryson, Nathan, Dawson, Kyle, Cole and Devon; great great grandson, William; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members; and special friends, Lea, May and Joyce and adopted daughter Carol.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Jennie, Lena, Helen and Emma; brothers, George, Leslie, John, James, Austin and foster brother, Gerald Diamond.
Jean also had a special grand fur baby Tommy that would visit every night that is going to miss her dearly. A special thanks to Clifford Poirier who went to Jean’s home every Thursday to do her hair and Amanda MacLeod and Corrine for the special care they provided these past months, Jean so looked forward to seeing them.

A time to gather and share memories of Jean will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in the Fergusons Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
