Arthur Ralph MacDonald

Arthur Ralph MacDonald

The death of A. Ralph MacDonald occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in his 86th year.

Ralph was born in Shediac and grew up in McKee’s Mills, Kent Co. He was the son of the late Arthur and Jean (Mugridge) MacDonald.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Lois (Johnston) and four children, John (Darlene), Ann, Rod (Susan) and Jamie (Lisa). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan, Gretchen, Brendan, Ella and Jack. He was very proud of his grandchildren. Spending time with them and watching them grow up was very special to Grampie.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Stuart and sister-in-law, Delma Johnston and brother-in-law Ralph Johnston.

Ralph was formerly employed by Canadian National Railways, retiring in 1991 after 39 years of service. He was a faithful and active member of St. John’s United Church and served as an Elder, was a member of the Men’s Chorus as well as being a Member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Ralph enjoyed curling as well as playing golf with his friends at Royal Oaks, being a "Starter" for Ladies Night and golfing with the CN Pensioner’s Association. Up until last year, Ralph also volunteered with the Karing Kitchen.

Ralph always put his family interests first and was active in the Moncton Minor Hockey Association and was a leader in the Scouting Movement for 20 years.

A private family service will be held, with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
