Edna L. Thibodeau
Edna L. Thibodeau, 95, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The C.H.U. Dumont on Friday, September 11, 2020. Born in Pointe-du-Chêne, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Matilda (Petitpas) Wallace.
Edna attended Saint-Henri Roman Catholic Church, Grand- Barachois, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and exercise, mom was a late bloomer as an athlete, she started to run track and field at the young age of 85, she followed her youngest son, Paul, to all of his races, and won herself 8 provincial age class awards for her age category. She was an avid traveller, having visited many destinations across the globe. But her greatest treasure was her family, her children, and grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her.
Edna will be deeply missed by her children, Kathleen Smith (Kim), Anne-Marie Sommese (Dean), Debbie Gaudet (Bermond), Philip Thibodeau (Anne-Marie) and Paul Thibodeau; grandchildren, Kelly, Jessica, Annik, Elizabeth, Martin, Montana, Landon and Bianca; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Katie, Addy, Lola, Celeste and Adelaide; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members; Edna was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her husband, Philip Thibodeau (2008); sisters, Kathleen, Dora, Geraldine, Bessie and Diana and brothers, Cecil Jr. and Patrick.
In keeping with Edna’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. A private family funeral liturgy will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel with Father Robert Savoie officiating. Interment will be held next to her beloved husband Philip at the Saint-Henri Parish Cemetery, Grand-Barachois.
The family would like to thank Integrity Home Health Services and the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Palliative Care Unit at The C.H.U. Dumont for the tremendous care given to Edna.
