Frederick (Fred) G. Sears
He was an avid golfer at The Moncton Golf and Country Club since 1969. In earlier years, Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing as his hobbies. A Veteran of WWII, served with the 17th Field Regiment of the 5th Division, Canadian Army in Italy, France, Netherlands and Germany (1942 - 1945). He was an active member of the Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Association and a member of Jones Lake Baptist Church.
Besides his loving wife, Winnifred, of 62 years, Fred will be sadly missed by his daughter, Elizabeth McFadden Wilson (Jerry) of Moncton; precious grandchildren, Scott McFadden (Jennifer), Benjamin McFadden (Nicole) and Karolyn Davies (Stuart); cherished great grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan, Kyle, Taylor, Jordan, Amelia and Nolan; sister, Jacqueline Nelson (late Royden) of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two great grandchildren, Faith and Lawrence; sisters, Norma, Blanche and Helen.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Riverview Veterans and Armed Forces Association Memorial Service on Sunday at 5:00 pm. Funeral service at Jones Lake Baptist Church (Upton St. and Westmount Blvd.) on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Paul Fosmark officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
