Patricia "Pat" Dunphy
On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, Patricia Dunphy of Peoples Park Tower, Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital.
Pat was born in Moncton on January 5, 1927, the youngest of eleven children born to the late John J. and Elizabeth (McKibbon) Dunphy.
She received her early education in Moncton schools, graduating from Moncton High School in 1944. She was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School, later studying at U.N.B., the University of Moncton and the University of Maine in Orono, where she received her M. Ed. Degree. She taught in several areas of New Brunswick and in Vancouver, retiring in 1982 from MacNaughton High School, Moncton, she was active in NBTA.
A parishioner of St. Bernard’s Church for most of her lifetime, Pat served as a lector there for many years. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Council, CWL. She was active in the Girl Guides of Canada and in later years, was a member of the Trefoil Guild. Pat enjoyed playing sports in her younger years, basketball, badminton, bowling, curling and swimming. She spent much of her spare time playing bridge with her family and many friends.
Pat was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by many nieces and nephews in various parts of Canada, among them, Rick Dunphy and his wife, Sharon, of Moncton.
Pat was predeceased by five sisters, Laura, Marguerite, Jean, Florence and Bette and by five brothers, Mark, Fred, Francis, Jack and Peter.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Queen and Botsford Streets on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 9:30 am, with Rev. Charles Broderick presiding.

The family would like to thank the staff of 6600, 5200 and physicians for the wonderful care she received while a patient. Also, a sincere thank you to Freda Gallant for her friendship and care over the many years.
