Randy E. DeWare, 74, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
Born in Moncton on December 22nd 1946, he was the son of the late Roy and Irene (Cole) DeWare.
Randy was retired from The
Moncton Fire Department with 34 years’ service.
He was always there to help anyone that needed it. Whether it was coaching hockey, moving into a house, or even helping build that house, Randy did everything he could to make somebody’s day that much easier.
He enjoyed trailering at KOA and spending time with his family and friends. He liked sports and enjoyed watching his sons and grandkids play hockey. With the arrival of his grandkids, he was often found sitting on the front porch, going for a walk to the ‘old school’ or playing in the baby barn listening to music, with his wife Sheila by his side soaking up the sun.
Randy will be sadly missed by his sons, Todd DeWare (Becki) and Troy DeWare (Melanie); grandchildren, Jake, Tyler, Abbie and Sarah; sisters, Evelyn Wadman, Lois Maxner, Olive Cameron (Gerald), Marion Klein (Jayme) and brother Kenneth (Laura) and sisters-in-law, Garda and Leonise, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sheila (Teed) DeWare (March 2021); granddaughter, Haley; sisters, Hilda, Anna, Grace, Ethel and Phyllis and brothers, Earl, Harold, Walter, William, Lloyd, Donald, Paul and Dale.
In keeping with Randy’s wishes, a private service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
