Ian London MacBain, 87, of
Moncton, NB passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on January
14, 2022 with his loving family by his
side.
Ian is survived by his children:
Heather (late Keith) Everett of Grafton, NB; Rob (Lisa) MacBain of
Charlottetown, PE; Nancy MacBain of Hamilton, ON; and Julie MacBain
(Stuart Smith) of Riverview, NB. Ian will be missed by his
grandchildren: Alex MacBain, Ashley MacBain, Amanda MacBain, Craig
Everett, Sandra Hanson and Kristin Everett. Also left to mourn are his
brother Alexander MacBain and his sister Ruth Archibald, as well as
several nephews and nieces. Ian was predeceased by his loving wife
Myrna (Power) MacBain, his sister Betty Thorne, and his parents
Alexander MacBain and Ina (London)
MacBain.
Throughout his life, Ian was a
dedicated employee of Moncton Foundry, Goodyear Tire, and the
Salvation Army Greenfield House. He was a committed member of the
Salvation Army Community Church in Moncton. He enjoyed gardening and
watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays play. He was a
loving father and a man of integrity with a giving
soul.
Due to the strict COVID
restrictions in place at the time of his passing, a funeral was not
able to be held. Therefore, a graveside funeral will be held to honour
his life. Friends and family are welcome to attend the service. It
will be held on Friday, June 10 at 11 A.M. at Elmwood Cemetery,
Moncton, NB (Northwest section, D1).
In the event of rain, the
service will take place at the Salvation Army Community Church, 20
Centennial Drive, Moncton.
A reception will follow at the
Salvation Army Community Church.
