Judy Ann
Steeves, 78, of Berry Mills, passed away peacefully on Friday,
February 11, 2022 at Albert House Hospice. Born in Upper Coverdale,
she was the daughter of the late Millen and Irene (Cole)
Trites.
Judy worked
in accounts at Eaton’s prior to the birth of her
daughter. She was very active in the church, working in the
kitchen and helping out when needed. She and her husband ran
a vegetable U-Pick for over 10 years and continued to garden and make
pickles. She won many trophies and ribbons for her apple
pies, flower arrangements and pickles. She also loved baking
for her family and friends, making flower arrangements and driving her
daughter crazy.
Judy will be
sadly missed by her husband of over 51 years, Jim, daughter Shelley
(Jean Gignac) of Berry Mills; brothers Harold (Bea) Trites of Pine
Glen, John Trites of Moncton and Gary (Heather) Trites of Upper
Coverdale; sisters Mary (late Bill) Taylor, Betty (Late Tug) Wilson,
Nellie (Donnie Lutes) (late Al) Hurley and Freda Kinden all of Moncton
and by sisters-in-law, June Dawson, Sharron Steeves (Mark) both of
Berry Mills and Diane (Denis Maillet) (late Terry) Steeves of Harewood
and by several nieces and nephews. She will be missed also
by her special "other daughter" Stephanie Edgar (Damian
MacLellan) and "grandson"
Logan.
In addition
to her parents, Judy was predeceased by sister, Emma McTavish; nephews
Kristopher Kinden and Marc Hurley and niece, Tracey
Steeves.
Resting at
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) with
visitation hours on Wednesday February 16, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00
pm.
A Public Graveside Service will
be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 3:00 PM from Steeves Mountain
Cemetery.
The family would like to
express a heartfelt thank you to the Driscoll Unit of Extra-Mural
(extramuralnb.ca) as
well as Hospice SENB (hospicesenb.ca) for
the care and compassion shown to Judy and her family during her
illness. In lieu of flowers, donations to Steeves Mountain Cemetery,
