Ronnie Meadows, 79, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Mary (Burke) Sherwood.
Ronnie was born and raised in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Ronnie's love for the great outdoors started early with trips to the family camp in Coal Branch and summers in Souris, PEI. Ronnie's sense of adventure kept her family very busy. Ronnie was a kind and loving wife, mother and nannie. She met her soulmate, the love of her life, Dean and together they built a beautiful God filled life. They travelled the world with their daughter Tradina in tow. One of her special places to visit was BC to visit her sister, nieces and nephews.
Ronnie believed in giving back to her community, to her church. She was the Coordinator for the Greeter's Ministry at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and over the years she belonged to several service and church groups including St. Andrew's Presbyterian Bible Study Group, Secretaries (PSI), Codiac Chords, IODE Blakeney Chapter, and the Outdoor Enthusiasts where many friendships were formed out of these groups. Ronnie and Dean spent many weekends, canoeing, hiking and camping with friends and family in the great outdoors.
Ronnie took great pride in helping her daughter with various fundraisers in the community and one she was especially fond of was helping start the Annual Curl for Moncton SPCA. She continued working on the committee for over 7 years.
Ronnie's greatest joy in life was her family and especially her 3 beautiful grandchildren. Ronnie would often be found in a cold hockey rink cheering on all 3 of her grandkids, taking her granddaughter to ballet or spending time at their beautiful cottage sitting around a campfire with the family. Her little piece of heaven that she helped build, was filled with love and laughter. One could always find her in her cottage garden planting pumpkin seeds with her grandkids. Ronnie always looked forward to big family gatherings with her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews.
Ronnie taught us to be strong and kind. She had a plaque in her dining room that read, Kindness Matters. Ronnie would tell everyone to love and be kind to one another.
Ronnie will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 57 years Dean, daughter Tradina (Darren), grandchildren Chad, Joshua and Veronica, sister-in-law Marjorie Harper (Royce), nieces Carol Dupuis (Bernie) and Shelley Harper nephews Dana Harper (Karen), Scott Harper (Heidi), special cousins Mark Higgins (Kate) John Higgins (Tammy), Wayne Brake (Cathy) and her special and devoted shadows Happy and Nelson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Betty and Diane.
A special thank you to the Pastoral Team from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Reverend Martin Kreplin, Minister John Dykeman, the bible study and church family, Dr. Mallet, Dr Chinnathurai, the nurses at the Moncton Hospital in 4100,3600, 5600, ICU Neurology and that one special nurse always helping to secure her various rooms.
