Shirley A. Irving, 85, of Moncton, passed away within the comforts of her home on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Gladys (Scribner) Machum.

Shirley retired as an office clerk with Zellers, and had over 26 years of dedicated service with the company. She was a devoted and faithful member of Moncton Wesleyan Church, where she was involved and served her church in various capacities such as member of the seniors’ group, choir member, former Sunday school teacher, and former member of the visitation board. In her earlier years she was a sponsor and leader for youth on short term mission trips to New York City. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, time on the computer, and most importantly the precious time she spent with her family.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Kathy Lewis (Barry) and Douglas Irving (Jennifer); grandchildren, Joey Lewis, Tanya Rogers (Michael), Jaxon, Alexis and Alexander Irving; great grandchildren, Peyton and Dylan Rogers, Ethen Lewis and Summer Pauley; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Irving; sister, Margaret; and brothers, Bob, George and Douglas.

A Service to Celebrate and Honour Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 am from the Moncton Wesleyan Church Life Centre (945 St. George Blvd). Visitation will take place One Hour prior to service. Reception will follow in the Church Atrium. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
