Robert “Bob” H. Sherwood (VE1XW), 76, of Moncton, with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Born in Scotch Settlement, he was the son of the late Leonard Botsford and Myrtle (Coates) Sherwood. Bob was a retired CNR electrician and materials expediter (34 years service). He was an avid ham radio operator (over 60 years) and was a Charter Life Member of the Moncton Seniors Amateur Radio Club, member of the Radio Amateurs of Canada and manager of VE9-VY2 QSL Bureau and enjoyed being a CW operator. He enjoyed taking drives in the countryside and was a lover of nature.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Joyce (McKinley) Sherwood; sisters, Barbara Tait (Harris), Moncton, Joan Smith (William H.R.), St. Andrews; nephew, Bruce Tait (Nadine); niece, Dr. Jocelyn Smith. In addition to his parents, predeceased by a nephew, Stephen Smith.

No visitation by personal request. Funeral service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Saturday, July 5, 2008, 11:00 am, Rev. Ron Maund officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Scotch Settlement Cemetery.
